About us

CEO Martin Ben-Dayan and CTO William Bickmore, founders of MetaShield.

MetaShield LLC is a pioneer in the emerging field of advanced materials – nano-engineered materials with extraordinary properties not typically found in nature. We founded the company in 2011 with the core mission of creating innovative products that would be both cost effective and practical for rapid market entry. MetaShield is at the vanguard of the “Materials Revolution” that is beginning to transform the physical world and reorder the global economy.

Silica [glass] based coatings represent an evolutionary advance over polymer based offerings. The patent-pending MetaShield formula represents the cutting edge of this technology, which is poised to disrupt the $50 billion+ coating market that has been dominated by conventional polymer based materials for the last half century.

Our leading product is a nanostructured formula coating that significantly increases the impact resistance of glass. The MetaShield formula is also highly scalable to various use cases, several of which are currently under development by our talented team of researchers. Like other ‘wonder materials’ that have come before, such as Teflon, Gore-tex, and Kevlar, MetaShield is a platform technology that can straddle multiple industries and use cases.

The proprietary MetaShield formula is a result of six years of research and development using the combined work of theoretical physicists, chemists, and engineers. Our talented researchers employ chemistry, physics, and nano engineering, using sophisticated mathematical and particle forecast models to enable rapid prototyping and testing. The company utilizes industry leading ISO certified contract manufacturing and technologies to produce and package the product.

Concrete, steel, and silicon made the modern era possible. Nanotechnology represents this era’s greatest opportunity to fulfill technology’s fundamental promise of doing more with less — less size, less weight, and less cost.
